Boekenoogen Vineyard
In 1997, John Boekenoogen took part of the family ranch in the Santa Lucia Highlands, and began planting Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. John passed away in 2019, but his son Garrett Boekenoogen has overseen the 97 acres of vineyards for many years and is winemaker for the family’s own label.
"The Boekenoogen vineyard is located on the northern end of the SLH, a beautiful property, high up on the top of the Bench. Consistently great fruit, we acquire two Pinot clones (Pommard 4 and Dijon 113).” I’ve developed a very close working relationship with Garrett as he and I share the same vision of growing the best possible fruit, picking at just the perfect time, and letting the character of the vineyard speak clearly in the finished wine.” Michael Mooney
