Chateau Margene
Founded in 1998, Chateau Margene is a small winegrowing estate in the Creston District, within the Paso Robles AVA. It consists of 21 acres of rolling hills sitting at an elevation from 1,150' to 1,220' above sea level. 9 acres are under vine, planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot & Sangiovese. Soil is a mix of sedimentary rock, granite, sandy loam and clay loam that provide the necessary drainage and allow the roots to grow deep. Michael's Vineyard is cordon trained and Stella's Vineyard is cane pruned. Farming practices are organic and sustainable. All the grapes grown onsite remain in the Chateau Margene wine program.
